How do BlinX work? |
|
|
BlinX work by
allowing you to put a small ultra bright LED any where on your wheel. They can even be hidden behind the spokes. The light from the LED reflects off your wheel surfaces and illuminates the
wheel.

How
do BlinX attach to the wheel? |
|
|
BlinX attach to
your wheels using a high performance tape from 3M called VHB (Very High
Bond). 3M VHB tape is specially designed to take the heat, shock and
G-force encountered on the wheel.

How strong is the 3M VHB tape? |
|
|
The 3M VHB tape is capable of withstanding speeds much greater than most
cars can achieve, 130 Mph+. It is impervious to Water, Salt Water, Oil & Anti Freeze and is rated to 400 Deg F. The most important factor in the tape
strength is having a clean surface to stick to. We include a Alcohol
cleaning pad with every package to help you make sure all wax grease dirt
and grim are removed from the mounting surface.

How
are the BlinX LEDs powered? |
|
|
BlinX use 3
standard LR1130 watch batteries to power the light. They are easily
replaceable.
|
|
How long will the batteries last? |
|
|
The batteries will last
2-3 months or more with normal use. If you were to turn them on and
leave them on they will last over 4 days of continuous use.
|

How
do you turn on the BlinX LEDs? |
|
|
BlinX use a
quick and easy on/off switch located on the back of the housing.

Do the lights flash or stay on? |
|
|
The BlinX LED
uses a very fast continues flash and will not turn on off until you hit
the on/off switch. Their are several advantages to this. Flashing lights
draw more attention & it drastically increases your battery life.

Are they water proof? |
|
|
BlinX LEDs have
gone thru extensive submersions test to make sure they are water proof and
use 2 rubber seals to keep the water out.
|
|
How small are the BlinX LEDs? |
|
|
They are 1 1/2
inches long by 3/4 of a inch wide.

What are they made of? |
|
|
The housing is
made of a high strength and light weight T6 Aluminum that has been chrome
plated. The clear cap is made of a high strength acrylic plastic.

How many BlinX LED's did you use on the Denali in the video? |
|
|
2 Tri-Color
BlinX LEDs where used per wheel to produce the result in the
video. More can be used for more dramatic results.

How are they installed? |
|
|
BlinX are very easy to install. Wash your wheels as you normally would
with soap & water. Dry the wheels. Using the alcohol swab provided wipe
down the ¾ by 1 ½ inch flat area where you want to place the BlinX LED.
Peel off the protective tape covering. Apply to wheel in desired position.
Apply medium pressure to the BlinX housing for 30 seconds to speed up the
bonding process to the wheel. Repeat and be blown away by the results.

Can I reposition the LEDs after they have been installed? |
|
|
No, after the
LEDs have set and cured they cannot be repositioned. The LED can be
removed and reused, but you will need to purchase new BlinX 3M VHB adhesive
strips to properly reinstall the LED's to wheels.

Are BlinX legal to use on the street? |
|
|
You will need to consult with your
local city / state ordinances to determine if they are legal to use in your
area.
